Deploying App and Desktop Solutions with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop 7.6

Overview

This course provides delegates with the skills required to successfully deploy a complete Citrix hosted application and desktop virtualization solution in a Windows Server 2012 R2 environment.

Throughout this course, delegates will learn how to configure an environment that includes the following Citrix components: XenServer, XenDesktop, Citrix License Server, MCS, PVS, Personal vDisk, StoreFront, NetScaler (ICA Proxy, Load Balancing, Endpoint Analysis), and Citrix Receiver. Upon course completion, delegates will be able to build a XenDesktop 7.5 environment from scratch and test the implementation to ensure that all components work as expected and that both internal and external end users can access XenDesktop resources successfully.

Certifications:

In addition to field experience, this course prepares deligates for the Deploying XenDesktop 7 Solutions exam. By passing the Deploying Citrix XenDesktop 7 Solutions exam, candidates will gain the new Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization certification. Go here to learn about Citrix Certification.

Objectives

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Set up the hypervisor
  • Set up the infrastructure components
  • Set up XenDesktop 7.5 components
  • Configure XenDesktop 7.5 resources (Server OS machines, hosted applications, and Desktop OS machines)
  • Configure profiles and policies
  • Set up Provisioning Services
  • Validate the implementation
  • Set up NetScaler to provide external access to XenDesktop 7.5 resources

Audience

This course is recommended for solution designers such as Architects, Consultants, and Engineers. Students will gain hands-on experience installing and configuring hosted application and desktop virtualization solutions from the ground up. Upon completion of the course, students will have the skills required to successfully deploy XenDesktop 7 solutions that the majority of Citrix customers implement today.

Prerequisites

Citrix course materials are only available to delegates in e-courseware format. Delegates will be provided with instructions on how to access their e-courseware on day one of the event. Those delegates who are attending via either virtual or extended classroom will be required to provide either three monitors (to view courseware, labs and instructor demos simultaneously) or two monitors and a mobile device. Delegates will be required to have an active TCC (Training.Citrix.com) account in order to access course materials and labs.

Please set up Your TCC account up in advance of the course using the following link:

https://www.citrix.com/welcome/create-account/create-account-form.html

Please note: It is highly recommended that the delegate uses a personal email address (rather than company email) to set up their TCC account. If you do not wish to reference your company name when setting up your TCC account we recommend you use 'EDUCALC' as reference.

Should you encounter any issues in setting up your TCC account please ensure that you raise this directly with Citrix in advance of your event by visiting http://training.citrix.com then on the home page click, Help, then select Classroom Support, and submit a Critical or High priority request notifying Citrix of the course start date.
